Mother Nature Dampens 2nd annual Heritage 100 at Owosso Speedway. 15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals Closes Out 2010

By: By Matt Prieur

Ovid, Michigan (September 18, 2010): The High Powered Outlaw
Super Late Models were supposed to return for their Second and FINAL
Apperance of the 2010 Racing Season as it's the Second and FINAL Round
of the Big "O" Duels Series and the running of the 2nd annual Heritage
100!

Unfortunately Mother Nature ruined those plans and forced Fast Track
Promotion Inc., to cancel the racing action. For the Outlaw Super Late
Models, the Big "O" Duels Series is complete and there are
Co-Champions in the series as Johnny VanDoorn and Mike Root are both
the 2010 Big "O" Duels Series Super Late Model Champions at Owosso
Speedway.

Also with the cancellation, the 2010 Season Championships for ALL FIVE
DIVISIONS within the Weekly Local Racing Series will now be a part of
the "15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals"

The 2010 Racing Season comes to a close on Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday, September 24-25-26th as the Biggest End of the Season Special
Event in the state of Michigan will wrap up the tracks' 69th year of
operations with the running of the 15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals.

It all begins on Friday, September 24th with an all-day test and tune
from 2:00-8:00p.m., followed by a Hog Roast and the biggest end of the
season racing party in the state.

Then on Saturday, September 25th it's time to get down to business as
the Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Late Models, Drive Train
Specialists Modifieds, Shiawassee Shores Pro Stocks, Shattuck
Specialty Advertising Pure Stocks, and Okemos Auto Service Sport
Stocks will all be in action under a Progressive Show Format.

Because of the Rain Outs on Saturday, September 11th and Saturday,
September 18th, all Five Divisions Within the Weekly Local Racing
Series; The Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Late Models, Drive
Train Specialists Modifieds, and Shiawassee Shores Pro Stocks 50-lap
Nationals Features will also be their 2010 Season Championships. In
addition, the Shattuck Specialty Advertising Pure Stocks and Okemos
Auto Service Sport Stocks 35-lap Nationals Features will also be their
2010 Season Championships!

All Five (5) 2010 Track Championships and 2010 Rookie of the Year
Titles will be Decided at the 15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals!

In the chases for the two remaining 2010 Track Championships that will
be decided during the 15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals; Mark Welch -
Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Late Models, Bill Luckhurst -
Drive Train Specialists Modifieds, Tony Basalone - Shiawassee Shores
Pro Stocks, Bob Robinson - Shattuck Specialty Advertising Pure Stocks,
and Kyle Crump - Okemos Auto Service Sport Stocks, are the Points
Leaders.

Welch is in search of his second career Owosso Track Championship to
go with his 2007 title, but has only a 9-point advantage over Jimmy O.
Smith while five other drivers (Ed Young Jr., Dave Bigos, Dan Leeck,
John Forsythe Jr., and Ryan Etchison) are ALL still mathematically
alive for the title.

They'll be going up against a slew of invaders hoping to put their
name in the record books as an Owosso Fall Nationals Champion that
includes Defending Owosso Fall Nationals Champion and 2010 Whittemore
Speedway Late Model Track Champion, Cale Wiltse, as well as Three-Time
Dixie Motor Speedway Pro Late Models Track Champion, Ed Doutre Jr.,
and a host of other top notch competitors.

In the Modifieds, Luckhurst, the most successful driver in Owosso
Speedway's 69-year history, has already wrapped up an unprecedented
Eighth Consecutive and 12th Overall Championship as the Ovid, Michigan
veteran already clinched the Championship as he accomplished the feat
back on September 4th with a second place finish in the Modifieds
Feature that night!

Basalone looks to become the first driver in 24 seasons to repeat as
Champion in the Pro Stocks division as Robinson looks for his first
career title in the Pure Stocks.

Both drivers merely need to start their respective Features and the
titles are there's while in the Sport Stocks, Crump looks to pull off
the sweep of both Overall and Rookie titles in his first season behind
the wheel of a full bodied stock car as he carries a not so
comfortable 26-point advantage over 16-year-old Matt Vainner.

In the chases for the 2010 Rookie of the Year titles; 17-year-old
Jimmy Novak - Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Late Models,
16-year-old Kyle Feeney - Drive Train Specialists Modifieds,
15-year-old Travis Skarvi - Shiawassee Shores Pro Stocks, 20-year-old
Steve Pelky II - Shattuck Specialty Advertising Pure Stocks, and Crump
- Okemos Auto Service Sport Stocks lead each respective Freshman title
chase.

Novak, Skarvi, Pelky II, and Crump have all wrapped up their
respective Freshman titles while Feeney leads 14-year-old Alex Donnert
and fellow Rookie Dave Parisian in the chase for the Rookie crown in
the Modifieds.

The third and final day of the 15th annual Owosso Fall Nationals on
Sunday, September 26th will be headlined by the Carnage Nationals!
Modeled after the widely popular Eve of Destruction Series held at
Owosso's sister track to the Northeast, the Dixie Motor Speedway in
Birch Run, Michigan, an afternoon of carnage and mayhem will close the
curtain on the 2010 racing season in Ovid, Michigan.

Headlining the day will be the School Bus Race as well as the Trailer
Race, Push and Pull Team Races, the Flagpole Races, a 50-lap Enduro
for the Carnage Nationals participants, Spectator Drags as well as
