Jeremy Miller Wins Construction Labor Management
40 Wilberg, Fassett, Ace, and McNamara Also Victorious
By John Wells
Oregon, WI (June 25, 2010)
- Defending champion Jeremy Miller
won for the second time in 2010 in the Rockweiler Insulation
Late Models by taking top honors in the Construction Labor
Management 40 in front of a great crowd on a perfect night
for racing at Madison International Speedway. Miller was not
the only driver to return to victory lane as Bobby Wilberg
(Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Don Fassett (Club LaMark
Hobby Stocks), Chester Ace (Roto Rooter Bandits), and Max McNamara
(Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends) also picked up wins. Craig
Jarvis won the Faster Pastor race.
Miller Holds Off Wilberg for Late Model Win
Jeremy Miller didn't mind starting on the outside on a double
file restart as he used it to his advantage to take the lead
on lap 27 and hold off Bobby Wilberg to pick up his second feature
win of the season.
Following a fourteen car invert, the twenty-five car field was
led to the green flag by Steve Rubeck and Kevin Knuese. Rubeck
would show the most speed early on as he took the lead coming
out of turn two with Scott Broughton moving by Knuese for second
place.
Rubeck would continue to lead with Broughton and Knuese in tow
as the three put some distance between themselves and the fourth
and fifth place cars of Tyler Kelley and Miller. Broughton would
begin closing the gap on lap 10 and would move to the inside
of Rubeck coming down the backstretch on lap 13 and take over
the lead coming out of turn 3.
Broughton would continue his leading ways until the caution
flag came out for a spin on lap 18. The green flag would wave
shortly thereafter with Miller able to work his way up to second
before Dan Lensing made heavy contact with the outside wall in
turn three on lap 19. Lensing would be ok, but his car would
need the help of the flatbed to get back to the pit area.
After the restart Miller would try to get to the inside of Broughton
on the backstretch but would be unsuccessful for the time being.
Ryan Goldade and Wilberg would each move past Rubeck on lap 23
for third and fourth place respectively before the caution flag
and eventually red flag would come out once more for an accident
in turn four involving Cliff Rucks and Don Wickstrum.
Now it was time for another double file restart with Broughton
on the inside and Miller on the outside. This time it would be
Miller getting past Broughton coming out of turn two followed
by Goldade and Wilberg. But things would only get worse for Broughton
as he and John Baumeister Jr. would get together on lap 29 bringing
out the caution and sending both drivers to the rear of the field.
Miller would continue his lead following the restart with Wilberg
following closely in second ahead of Goldade, Kelley, and Chad
Wood.
Even though it appeared that Wilberg might have enough to get
by Miller, forty laps would not be enough as Miller held him
off for the win.
"I am happy for this win," said Miller.
Wood set fast time with a lap of 18.975 with Rucks, Broughton,
and Knuese earning heat wins.
Jeremy Miller leads the points race with a 383-355 advantage
over Chad Wood. Bobby Wilberg is in third place with 351.

Wilberg Runs Away With Area Sportsman Checkered Flag
Bobby Wilberg picked up his third feature win of the season
by winning the 15 lap feature.
Tommy Wutke and Russ Nicholson brought the seven car field to
the green flag and it would be Wutke who would show the most
speed early on as he quickly got out front. On lap 3 Mike Taylor
would move to the low side of the track coming out of turn two
to take over the top spot with Wilberg right behind him. Taylor
would only be able to hold off the hard charging Wilberg for
another lap before surrendering the lead coming out of turn 3.
From this point on all it was all Wilberg who would build a
solid advantage over the field. Taylor and Stephen Scheel would
fight it out for second place with Scheel getting by on lap 6.
But tonight nobody would catch Wilberg as the current point leader
cruised to victory followed by Scheel, Taylor, Robert Hansberry,
and Wutke.
"This car has been real good. We were cruising tonight," said
Wilberg.
Wilberg set fast time with a lap of 20.478 with the heat win
going to Hansberry.
Wilberg is the current points leader with a 468-411 advantage
over Scheel. Taylor is in third with 401 points.

Ace Continues Dominance in Roto Rooter Bandits
Can anyone beat Chester Ace? For the fifth straight time he
set fast time, started twelfth in the feature, and worked his
way to the front by weaving his way through traffic to earn his
way to victory lane. This time he had to hold off his brother
in law Lee Haag for the win in the 23 lap feature held in memory
of Kasey Baley of Madison (girlfriend of Bandits driver Joe Solem)
who was killed in an automobile accident on June 11th.
Rob Nuti and Darren Arndt led the fifteen car field to the green
with the action going three wide right from the start. Nuti would
get a slight lead over Arndt and Haag before Haag would take
the lead on lap 2 by getting by Nuti on the outside coming out
of turn two.
Haag would quickly build a multi-car lead over the field, but
the action behind him was very hot. On lap 6 Jon Coker would
move up to second followed closely by Kyle Padfield, Nuti, and
John Beale. By lap 7 Ace had broken into the top five as Haag
continued to check away from the field.
It looked like Haag had what it took to get to victory lane
before the first caution flag of the night waved on lap 11 for
a spin on the backstretch. Following the restart Haag would continue
his lead with Padfield getting by Coker for second. On lap 12
Ace would work his way past Coker for third and three laps later
overtake Padfield for second after running side by side for a
lap.
On lap 16 Haag and Ace were side by side and would remain that
way for the next four lap before Ace made his move to the outside
coming into turn two to take over the lead. But Haag was not
about to let this one go as he fought valiantly but came up just
short of breaking Ace's stranglehold on the Bandit field. Rounding
out the top five behind Ace and Haag would be Padfield, Coker,
and John Beale.
Ace made it another clean sweep by setting fast time with a
circuit of 15.360 and getting a heat win. Other heat winners
were Jo Rupp and Haag. Rupp also was the winner in the 12 lap
Last Chance Race.
Ace leads the points chase with 484 followed by Padfield at
425 and Haag in third with 343.

Fassett Wins a Close One in Club LaMark Hobby Stocks
Don Fassett won for the second time in 2010 in a very competitive
12 lap feature for the Hobby Stocks.
Chad Knaus and Terry Ciano Jr. brought the field of six cars
to the green flag with Knaus jumping out to the lead. After the
first circuit Fassett would move to second followed by Todd Ambrose
and Ciano Jr.
By lap 4 Fassett had closed the gap and made his move for the
lead coming into turn one and eventually taking over the point
coming out of turn 2. But Knaus, Ambrose, and Ciano Jr. were
not about to give it up for Fassett as the four battled it out
the rest of the way.
In the end Fassett would be able to hold off the field with
the tight battle for second won by Knaus with Ciano Jr. edging
Ambrose for third.
"This is my second win and it's definitely harder than
the first one especially after Todd (Ambrose) set a new track
record," said Fassett.
Ambrose was best in qualifying with a new track record lap of
21.434 with Knaus winning the heat race.
The team of Brad Luck and Todd Ambrose have a 438-424 points
lead over Fassett with Ciano Jr. in third with 398.

Mad Max is On a Roll in the Legends
"I'm finally back on a roll. This is two in a row," said
two-time defending track champion Max McNamara after winning
the 20 lap feature for the Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends.
Tony Moyer and Steve Narr would have the honors of bringing
the fourteen car field to the green flag with Narr getting out
to the early advantage before the car of Josh Kreyer made heavy
contact with the inside wall in turn four sending a tire flying
and the caution flag waving.
Once the field was reset Moyer would regain the lead followed
by Dave Terrafino and Andy Jones. Moyer would continue to show
the way out front before Adam Rawski would prove to be too quick
and capture the lead on lap 5 when he dropped to the inside.
Meanwhile, McNamara was working his way up through the field
and was quickly applying heavy pressure to Rawski. Despite the
cones taking away the low side coming out of turn four, McNamara
was able to find room inside Rawski to take over the lead on
lap 7.
McNamara would waste no time building his lead and working his
way through lapped traffic on his march to victory lane. The
competition behind McNamara was putting on a great show too as
Tommy Jones, who moved up to second when McNamara took the lead,
would hold off Brandon Heisler to finish second. Rounding out
the top five would be Andy Jones and Daniel Ivaska.
It was a clean sweep for McNamara who won a heat race and was
fastest in qualifying with a lap of 14.179. Also winning one
of the two heat races was Steve Narr who was declared the winner
after a last lap caution.
McNamara has a one point lead over Tommy Jones (439-438) in
the points race while Andy Jones sits in third place with 413.
