Macon Speedway's Midwest Big 10 Series
Events this Weekend
Macon, IL (July 13, 2010) - Macon Speedway is excited
to announce with the help of Skeff Distributing the popular Midwest
Big Ten Series will be
back in action this Saturday night at Macon Speedway as part of
the Skeff Distributing/Christmas in July toy drive event. Morgan
County Speedway, Jacksonville, IL, and Shepps Speedway, Alexander,
IL has teamed up with Macon Speedway for our promotion, the “Midwest
Big Ten Series”. Each of the ten races will include larger
winnings to the winner of the feature. At the end of the season
the points each driver has accumulated in those 10 races will be
totaled and there will be $10,000 distributed throughout the top
ten Late Models. This Saturday night the UMP Late Model winner
will win $1,200 plus if they are a Crate Late Model they will pick
up a bonus of $100 bringing their winnings to $1,300! The three
tracks are also bringing a Big Ten Series for the Street Stock
division sponsored by Decatur Used Cars, running under the same
guidelines but with different payout. This Saturday night is also
a Big Ten night for the Street Stocks which offers $500 to the
winner of that event. As if that wasn’t enough, the three
tracks will all be hosting a special Modified series this weekend
where each track will tally the points from all three Modified
features to award the top three point finishers a total of $600
to be divided among the top three in points. Don’t miss an
exciting night of racing at Macon Speedway featuring all 6 UMP
divisions.
So far the Big Ten Late Model Series finds itself in a two way
tie for first place between Brandon Sheppard racing his #B5 and
Steve Lance Jr in his #25 Late Model. Closing in on Sheppard and
Lance is Mike Hammerle in his 16H and Roger Brickler in his #82
Late Model. Both Brandon Sheppard and Steve Lance Jr are tied for
first place with 206 points. The Big Ten Street Stock race is a
very close one as well with #9 Terry Miller in the lead, with X7
Larry Russell closing in fast. This weekend’s events will
be crucial for all three drivers leading the point’s standings
in both divisions to sustain their point’s leads. Tickets
for this Saturday are $15 for adults and children 12 and under
are free. Our grandstand opens at 5pm with Late Models qualifying
at 7pm. If you bring in a new toy to donate to the IL Abate volunteers
you will receive $3 off the price of admission for the grandstand.
Saturday night will also be a Kids Club night where the Kids Club
members will work on making a box car to race at the next scheduled
Kids Club on Aug 14 plus be treated to a pizza party. All Kids
Club meetings begin at 6 pm in the pavilion.
